The Land

The Lost Waterfalls Trail in Boquete

If you are not afraid of getting a little bit dirty, then this rugged jungle trek is worth a visit. This is unanimously considered the best hike in Boquete and amongst the best in all of Panama. You’ll hike trek through the mud from waterfall to waterfall in the thick of the jungle- which sounds pretty epic to us!

Nuca Del Toro in Santa Fe

If you’re looking for an out-of-this-world view, consider hiking through this pine forest amidst a sweeping tropical landscape. At the end of this quick hike, you’ll stand on top of boulders and hills and look out over the mountain range. We’re told the mountains are illuminated at sunset, so taking the trek towards the end of the day will not disappoint, especially if you’re a photography enthusiast or travelling with a significant other.

Cerro La Gaita in El Valle De Anton

Just outside of the town centre, this mountain hike in the Anton Valley will take you up above the tree canopy to a wooden viewing platform. This hike is less rugged than others as you scale up a never-ending staircase to the top, where you will be blessed with bucket-list worthy views of Cerro Picacho and San Carlos Lake.

Cerro Picacho in Ola

For those who love a true, rustic jungle experience, this hike is to-die-for. You can climb up hills, over roots and through this ultra-dense forest up to a viewpoint overlooking the San Carlos Laguna. This is a steep and muddy trail, but the summit is considered to be one of the most beautiful in all of Panama. You might even spot some Lion’s Paw leaves from our Panama design.

Colourful Culture in Panama City

Travellers who prefer staying in a bustling city centre will fall in love with Panama City. Panama City is divided into two districts: New Panama and Old Panama. Old Panama is a classic Latin-American city with a lively Spanish flare, and is definitely the go-to if you’re looking for the complete “Panama” experience. Be sure to stop by the Panama Canal, listen to some live jazz, hunt for some colourful street art and appreciate some exquisite local cuisine while you’re there. Some our fellow fashion lovers might also be interested to know that a trip to the markets is the best place to find Panama hats and sandals, both global favourites and local staples.

Bocas del Toro is a hotspot for scuba diving, snorkelling, surfing, paddle boarding and sea kayaking. It’s also known for having some stellar nightlife so if you’re looking for some adult-friendly fun and entertainment then this might be the Panama destination for you. It’s also one of the few places on this side of the world where you can stay in an overwater bungalow, which will give you super-luxurious vibes on a budget.

Whale Nurseries in the Gulf of Chiriqui

A visit to Coiba National Park, also a UNESCO world heritage site comes with the promise of stunning tropical islands and mega wild-life encounters. If you visit during the rainy season, you may be lucky enough to spot some visiting humpback whales birthing and raising their calves in the tropical waters. The national park is also home to other exotic species year-round, so don’t count it out even if you’re planning to travel during tourist peak times. Keep your eyes out for whale sharks, sea turtles, stingrays and thousands of tropical fish.

Surfing in Santa Catalina

Santa Catalina is a sleepy little surfing village along the coastline, perfect for those looking for a bohemian vacation that offers some major rest and relaxation. It is well known as one of the best surfing spots in all of Central America, whilst maintaining its charming small-town appeal. If you’ve been wanting to learn how to surf, then this friendly destination is the one for you.

Sailing and Starfish in San Blas

San Blas is hands down one of the best island destinations across Panama. You can spend the afternoon searching for massive starfish that gather in the sandbars, snorkelling amongst shipwrecks, commissioning a sailing charter or relaxing on secluded white sand beaches. We’re also told that you can buy fresh lobster in San Blas from local Guna Yala tribesmen and cook it over an island campfire, if you’re looking for local flavours infused with a cultural experience.
